Facility Security Officer
ROLE AT THE PORT: Rick is the Port's Facility Security Officer (FSO) and serves as the Chief of the Port's security department. He and his team monitor all Port properties in Astoria and Warrenton, including the marinas, piers, and the airport.
WORK HISTORY: Rick retired from the United States Coast Guard as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (E8) after 22 years of service. He also served four years as a reserve police officer with the Astoria Police Department, three years as a guard at the Clatsop County Transition Center, and eight years as an on-call patrolman for the Port of Astoria before becoming a full-time Port employee.
FAMILY: Rick has been married for 42+ years to his wife Barbara. They have three children and five grandchildren.
CIVIC ACTIVITIES: Rick is a member of the local Elks lodge.
